Warden Thomas P. Mackie began his career in criminal justice as an officer for the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) in 1989, retiring as Warden in 2018 to pursue employment in the private sector. Mr. Mackie's work experience includes Hearings Investigator, Grievance Coordinator, Computer IT Liaison, Housing/Programs Supervisor, Assistant Warden, Deputy Warden and Facility Security Auditor for all MDOC facilities. Mr. Mackie has managed facilities from minimum security to maximum security levels and with populations ranging from 1200 to 2400 inmates. Mr. Mackie has a Bachelor's degree in business and organizational development from Spring Arbor University and a minor in criminal justice from Lake Superior University.
